You recently visited a restaurant with your family to celebrate a special occasion. However, the experience was not as good as expected due to poor service and quality of food. Write a letter to the manager of the restaurant. In your letter, introduce yourself and mention the occasion, describe what went wrong, and suggest what they could do to improve the service in the future.
MODEL ESSAY / ANSWER
Dear Manager,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the dining experience my family and I had at your restaurant last Saturday, which was intended to celebrate my sister's graduation. Unfortunately, the evening did not meet our expectations.
Firstly, the service was slower than anticipated. Despite the restaurant being half-empty, it took more than 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. Additionally, the waiter seemed uninterested in addressing our concerns about the delay. Secondly, when our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and lacked flavor, suggesting it had been sitting out for a while.
I believe your restaurant has the potential to offer a much better experience. Perhaps, more staff training on customer service and a review of the kitchen's efficiency during peak hours could help. We had chosen your establishment based on positive reviews, and it's disheartening to have had such an experience.
