Some people think that Government should not give international aid if they have disadvantaged people like unemployed and homeless in their own country to what extent do you agree or disagree.

MODEL ESSAY / ANSWER

Balancing Domestic Needs with International Aid The debate over whether governments should prioritize domestic challenges, such as unemployment and homelessness, over international aid is a complex one. This essay examines both sides of the argument to determine the extent to which I agree or disagree with this notion. On one hand, the argument for focusing on domestic issues first is compelling. Governments have a primary responsibility to their citizens, and addressing internal problems like unemployment and homelessness is crucial for national stability and welfare. Allocating funds to these areas can lead to a stronger economy and a more cohesive society. From this perspective, it seems logical to resolve internal issues before extending help internationally. However, international aid is also a critical component of global responsibility and diplomacy. Providing aid to less fortunate countries can help alleviate global issues like poverty, disease, and conflict, which indirectly benefits donor countries by promoting a safer and more prosperous world. Furthermore, international aid is not merely a charitable act; it often serves strategic interests, fostering alliances and economic partnerships. Another factor to consider is the scale of funding. Often, the budget for international aid is a fraction of the government's total expenditure and may not significantly impact the resources allocated to domestic issues. Therefore, it’s not necessarily a choice between helping those abroad and helping those at home; both can be addressed concurrently with proper management and prioritization. In conclusion, while prioritizing domestic challenges is important, it should not completely overshadow the responsibility and benefits of international aid. A balanced approach, where governments address internal issues while also contributing to global welfare, seems the most pragmatic and beneficial stance. This approach not only fulfills immediate domestic obligations but also considers long-term global stability and prosperity.
