In your view, what are the advantages and disadvantages of implementing measures to regulate and control the use of social media platforms for political advertisements?

MODEL ESSAY / ANSWER

Regulating and controlling the use of social media platforms for political advertisements can have both positive and negative implications. The advantages and disadvantages of such measures are manifold and worth considering. On the positive side, regulation can prevent the spread of misinformation and fake news, which have become increasingly prevalent in recent years. By setting standards for political advertisements, social media platforms can ensure that the information disseminated is accurate and reliable. This can help to maintain the integrity of political processes and prevent the manipulation of public opinion. Furthermore, regulation can also help to level the playing field for all political parties, preventing those with more resources from dominating the digital space. However, there are also significant drawbacks to such regulation. Firstly, it may infringe upon the freedom of speech, a fundamental democratic right. Limiting the content and reach of political advertisements could be seen as a form of censorship, potentially stifling debate and the free exchange of ideas. Secondly, the implementation of such measures could be challenging due to the global nature of social media platforms. Different countries have different laws and regulations regarding political advertising, making it difficult to establish a universal standard. Moreover, there is the risk of regulatory capture, where the regulators become influenced by the industry they are supposed to oversee. This could lead to regulations that favor certain political parties or viewpoints, undermining the fairness of the political process. In conclusion, while regulation of political advertisements on social media can help to prevent misinformation and ensure fairness, it also poses significant challenges and potential risks. It is therefore crucial that any such measures are carefully designed and implemented, with the aim of protecting democratic processes and the public interest.

Now a days social media is most powerful force to fight for rights. In politics social media is the best stage to manipulate the population. And in some places governments control the social media by applying different rules and restrictions. beside this there are the pons and cons of the controlled usage of social media. Firstly, political parties are not allowed to publish openly on the social platforms and power of words are not allowed to use agaist the opposite party. if political party is used to convience the popullation by their speeches and ask people to come forward to join them for protest and trying to manipulate the audience that will cause the disturbance in the coutry so in my point of view this type of control has positive impact on the usage of social media.Because in modren world new applications which unite the world together matters alot in the flourshment of the coutry.so this control has advantageous effect on the society. Beside this if the control over social applications for political awearness are more stricted and they are not allowed to talk about their parties that have negatively effect the society. however, the political situations are in the area but social media advertisments are very help full to chose the best party for the coutry. And that will help the people to become awear of the norms of the parties. so stopping the parties to show their work on social platforms are negatively impact the world. In conclusion, i want to say that moderatly controlled over the social media platforms are necessary.
According to my perspective, implementing boundaries to run and control the activity of political advertisements presented in all social media platforms has its own pros and cons. Overall, the social influences plays an important role when it comes to any field of interest. I'm here to talk about the two opposite perspective of implementing boundaries in political aspect. One of the major advantage is that nowadays, there is a lot of miscommunation and information is getting leaked in several online websites such as the recent election dispute that took place in the past week. Like it or not, these misuse of political information or fake parties projecting new yojanas in the midst of an important event can be prevented if proper measures are taken. As we all know, there are several fake user IDs which can easily trap people into believing fake advertisements while right influence might unfortunately get unnoticed due to the choas. Secondly, speaking about the fake parties projections and establishment of ideas: recently in times of india on Nov 24 2024 Narendra Modi has delibrately spoke about the established ideas that has been circulating in the social media which has many loop holes and he has also promised to announce the ideology via telivision or newspaper. Furthermore, creating booundaries would byfault decrease the opinions given on any political viewpoint or the attention that gets in social media wouldnt be the same elsewere. The prominent disadvantage is the citizens might feel neglected or try to get more information about the advertisements as the curiosity kicks in. Social media is everthing in this era, people spend there 60% of their time infront of there phone, not only that communicate via online apps. advertisements are meant to go viral and get in talks, but controlling the main aspect would create the unecessary void where people may never get a chance to view any influential ideas or be valid to spuport one.
