Some people believe that the increase in international tourism is leading to more cultural understanding between countries, while others argue that it results in cultural homogenization and loss. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

MODEL ESSAY / ANSWER

The burgeoning of international tourism has sparked a debate on its impacts on cultural exchange. Proponents argue that it fosters greater cultural understanding among nations, while critics contend it leads to a dilution of distinct cultural identities, resulting in a homogenized global culture. I lean towards the former viewpoint and will elucidate my stance in this essay. Firstly, international tourism promotes cultural exchange by providing individuals with the opportunity to immerse themselves in different cultures. This firsthand experience enables tourists to appreciate the nuances of other cultures, fostering mutual respect and understanding. For instance, when a person visits India and participates in local festivals, they gain insights into Indian traditions and values, which can dispel stereotypes and deepen their appreciation for the culture. Moreover, tourism often leads to the preservation of cultural heritage. Many countries have recognized the economic benefits of showcasing their cultural assets, leading to efforts to preserve historical sites, traditional crafts, and performances that might otherwise have been neglected. This not only helps in maintaining cultural diversity but also educates international visitors about the richness of world cultures. However, the concern regarding cultural homogenization cannot be entirely dismissed. The proliferation of global brands and the adaptation of destinations to cater to tourist preferences can sometimes overshadow local culture. Yet, this does not necessarily lead to cultural loss but rather underscores the importance of responsible tourism that values authenticity over commodification. In conclusion, while there are valid concerns about cultural homogenization, the potential of international tourism to enhance cultural understanding and preserve heritage outweighs these drawbacks. It is imperative, though, that both tourists and host countries approach tourism with mindfulness and respect for cultural preservation.

Nowadays plethora of people like to explore all around the world. While some think that it leads to cultural homogenization and loss. I believe that it improves the mutual understanding between two cultural communities. I agree with the latter notion and lets discuss in coming paragraph. To begin with, everyone like to explore the world with peace and relaxation, while exploring people can understand other cultural behaviours and their activities. International tourism is the best way to improve a relationship between two countries and they learn how to survive in this crucial era, and they realize that it is important to know about the other cultural programs. For instance, many youtubers travel all around the world and they create blogs about their experience of other cultural activities, from this some people learn to explore the world through tourism additionally survey says that India is the leading tourist place because people from other countries come to explore various food, culturals activities, and more places. On the other hand, some argue that tourism creates misunderstanding between communities because they think that it leads to homogenization and loss in cultural activities. While exploring world, some countries won't allow tourism to reveal their precious heritages. For example, reports says that some countries such as Iraq, Egypt, and Pakistan banned to visit their provinces it makes sense that tourism is not worth to explore places. In conclusion, although the consequence of exploring will lead to losses between countries, I believe that tourism is the best option to understand other cultural programs and improves relationship among two countries.
