Do you agree or disagree that playing sports and traditional games is more beneficial for children than spending time on electronic devices?

MODEL ESSAY / ANSWER

Traditional sports and games have been the cornerstone of children's play for generations, offering incomparable advantages in comparison to modern electronic devices. I firmly believe that physical games are far more beneficial for the development and well-being of children. Playing sports and engaging in traditional games greatly contribute to the physical health of young individuals. Active participation in sports improves their cardiovascular fitness, builds strong bones and muscles, and promotes coordination and balance. For instance, a child playing soccer gains not just the skills of the game but also experiences a full-body exercise, which is essential for growing bodies. Furthermore, these activities foster crucial social skills as children learn to work together, negotiate rules, and resolve conflicts, which cannot be matched by the solitary nature of screen-based entertainment. On the cultural front, traditional games play a pivotal role in preserving and passing on heritage. These games often come with stories and lessons that have been part of communities for ages. When children play hopscotch or hide-and-seek, they're engaging in activities that their ancestors might have enjoyed, hence keeping the cultural flame alive. Combining the physical, social, and cultural benefits, sports and traditional games evidently provide a multi-faceted enrichment to children. While moderate use of electronic devices can be educational, the enduring value of physical play is foundational to a child's holistic growth. In conclusion, the worth of traditional play in a child's life is unmatched by electronic alternatives and merits continued encouragement and engagement.
