Investigative journalism has led to the unearthing of scandals and the initiation of vital discussions on corruption and governance. The Watergate scandal, exposed primarily through persistent media reporting, illustrates this power, eventually leading to the resignation of a United States President. Such accountability is indispensable for the functioning of a transparent, fair society.
